Several weeks ago I went up to the Kampalpe from Spital am Semmering. I wanted to make this hike. If you click on this link, you see the status-note "Geschlossen". That's because I wrote an email to the website. I had to start the hike one hour later, at about 11 a.m., because the train was delayed. Anyway, I went up from the other direction, i.e. from Spital. That was quite exhausting and not so easy. But then, approximately from the Kerschbaumkogel, there was no trail, only fallen and felled trees. And there was quite a bit of snow, too. I think it was already after 3 p.m. I was afraid, I think this was my most frightening hike so far. I saw some forest roads on the map and decided to choose those for the descent, because I thought that climbing down the same way as I went up would be too steep, too dangerous and too long. Eventually I only saw animal footprints in the snow. When I had walked down most of the way, I met a local. I asked him which way I should choose, the trail or the forest road, which was longer but - according to my estimation - safer. He told me that the trail was ok. But it wasn't. Again a lot of fallen trees... I did't see the trail because of the trees and decided to go back again. But then the local came from the other direction and somehow we got down together, straight through the forest, and of course it was also pretty downhill, my clothes became dirty. Yes, that was it.
Only one pic here. The others will be in the gallery. But unfortunately there are not many. The best pic that I took on this hike is probably the view of the snowy Heukuppe from the Kampalpe.
Last week I was too lazy and only "hiked" the Stadtwanderweg 5 to the Bisamberg. This is more like a longer walk. There was not very much to photograph, I guess this trail is much nicer in autumn. But it's an interesting walk because you see a lot of vineyards very old wine cellars, among other things.
So only a short post this month.
