Two days before the start of LGM2025 I made the hike through the Schwarzachklamm. This is really a hike for photographers and families withe children. Easy, no dangers at all and ansolutely photogenic scenery - although, I think it's also the hashtag "germany/deutschland" which is very popular on Fediverse. And the location is also very close to the city, you only need to travel 15 minutes with the train from Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof in order to reach the starting point of the hike.
A few days after LGM I walked the Spalter Hügellandtour, but only half of it and apparently the wrong half. I wanted to see the Massendorfer Schlucht but apparently this trail does not lead through the gorge, you only see a small part of it from very far away. This hike was basically nothing, I mean only being outside in the nature. I guess the other half which leads through Schnittlinger Loch is better. I don't recommend walking the whole thing, half of it is enough for one day.
And last Saturday I finally made it to the Hohe Wand. But I only realized that I made the "wrong" hike at the end of the day. The hike "Auf Wildenauers Spuren" is in the the book "Wiener Hausberge Nord" but it does not lead to the "Skywalk". Nevertheless this is also an awesome hike, but the part between the the Hubertushaus und the Hochkogelhaus is not exactly easy - I definitely had to pack away my camera. Although, on the sign at the Hubertushaus which is showing the way to the Hochkogelhaus there is a warning.
So I definitely have to go up there again, and hopefully that will happen soon. I can really recommend the service "Mit Bahn und Bus zum Naturpark Hohe Wand". It is very cheap and comfortable - the ticket for 9,90 includes the ticket for the bus, the ticket for the Naturpark and a voucher for the Naturpark Shop. However, unfortunately it can happen that a ride is cacelled because not enough people sign up. On Saturday, the weather was really perfect but we were only four, and the driver said that the maximal number of people he ever had was about nine. I really don't know why so few people are using public transportation. I think this possibilty is not advertised properly. Well probably one reason why so few people are using this service is also the fact that the departure for the ride back to Winzendorf is already at 15:30, that's not enough for a hike plus a proper lunch break.
Well... I am still mourning but I am starting to miss the ocean again...
