Wachau, digital asceticism & a short screen "review"

So another month has passed and and I only made one hike. On July 4th I walked another part of the Welterbesteig, from Aggsbach Markt to Emmersdorf. Very nice, but not super spectacular. Easy hike.

I actually bought a new screen, the Iiyama Prographic 27 inch. Good screen, I can definitely recommend it but its original monitor stand is not really usable, the device is wobbling on it. So I bought an extra stand by Neomounts, it would be good and very stable but apparently swiveling is broken. I actually don't really need this function so I wonder whether I should send it back, but I think I will, it's not perfect and not what I payed for.

As far as the screen itself is concerned: in native mode it has I think 95% dci-p3, 94% adobergb and like 160% srgb, if you create an xyz-lut-profile. If you create a single gamma + matrix profile, it's actually 99% dci-p3 and 96% adobergb (as advertised). I wonder if and how I should create a monitor hood for it.

During the past weeks I have been playing around with small language models, and I think I also found another new project: Linux without Wayland or X11, just in plain text mode/tty.

So I think that's it for this month.
